Re: Trenchant comment on the Ukraine situation from a walker
we hoped he/she had been hit by a passing vehicle while crossing the road to The Green Welly Stop at Tyndrum to buy a new marker pen. Yes it was all very disturbing and somewhat disconcerting. You're right, that is indeed very disturbing and somewhat disconcerting to wish that on anyone. Apologies....

Re: Trenchant comment on the Ukraine situation from a walker
There was quite a bit of graffiti on the whw from rowardenan on wards , looked like it came from an asylum seeker with mental health problems ,his statements were aimed at the police ,mi5 , the NHS and not being allowed to work , I found it very annoying as the individual had written something on m...

Re: Walking the Way in Winter
Congratulations to you both
. A fantastic achievement at that time of year in they conditions.
I keep reading about this Huel dehydrated food. I must admit it's a new one to myself, tempted to try for myself again.
That was a great read, thanks for posting and well done both of you again.

Re: Alpkit Jura Smock
Hi all. Meant to say, Mrs LLW bought me the Montane Extreme smock for my Xmas. She knows I’m a bit of a Montane fan boy, as she puts it. I take it, it will be pretty much similar to the Alpkit and Buffalo ones. I have to say I’m impressed with it, I don’t know about not wearing a base layer undernea...

Re: Best tent under £100
A Lanshan 3F UL can generally be bought for about £80-£90. I’ve recently bought one but not as yet used it. Reviews are generally positive however. Tents can be like Marmite however, what one person swears by, another may offer critique. It’s a very subjective (and emotive) subject. Good luck on you...

Thanks Giant Stoneater for reply. I may try and drop some subtle hints to Mrs LLW and see if Santa will be kind to me this xmas.

Re: West Highland Way in 6 Days
I am currently sitting in work enjoying some down time, so had opportunity to read your walk report. I do really enjoy reading others walk reports of the West Highland Way, it brings back so many memories of the 2 times I have done it. Many congratulations on completing, a thoroughly enjoyable read ...

Alpkit Jura Smock
Does anyone have any personal experience of these? I am tempted to try one out, just not entirely sure on their waterproofness though. I am also somewhat of a heavy sweater so also a bit concerned how this will dissipate with the fleece lining. I know they appear to be similar to Buffalo products bu...

Re: Lanshan; a question.
Pour small amounts of of spirit into some decanted sealant and mix until you have the viscosity of olive oil. https://www.litesmith.com/seam-grip-sil-instructions/ You can also use mineral spirit instead of white spirit if you already have some. @ Marty_JG many thanks, much appreciated

Hi Robin, thanks for your comments. Can you recommend what ratio of white spirit to use with seam sealant?
Many thanks.

Re: Lanshan; a question.
Good morning all. I hope everyone is keeping well? So I thought I would post an update. I decided to take the plunge and buy said tent. It was retailing on eBay for circa £90, and at check out I was able to apply a 10% voucher code, so I got it for the princely sum of £81.59. It arrived yesterday. A...

Re: Lanshan; a question.
Apologies guys, I should have stated what model of tent. It is the Lanshan 3F UL. I should also state that it is a genuine vendor/retailer on Ebay, and not second hand. I am kind of concerned that they don't really know what they are talking about. I think to err on safe side if I did purchase it I ...
