Bennachie rocks my world. Even better since its only 40 mins or so away. The only thing tha tops that is being able to walk from my front door to some of the best North East outcrops for climbing!!

Re: "Wee Guy" (6yrs) bags 5 in a day over in Perthshire!

Great report and an absolutely awesome achievement. I thought I started early at 11! Granted I was on my own back then so the learning curve was steep. You should adopt the 'Sherpa' technique in order to tire him out. If that fails there's always powerade...

Keep on bagging!

Re: Jetboil or wee stove- what do you recommend?

I use an msr whisperlite which is very reliable, boils water über fast and packs away inside the small pan I use with it. I bought a small metal water bottle to carry on lightweight trips instead of the standard size.

Re: The 8 Cairnwells–kissing a frog and what to do with a pr

Awesome walk report and I must say I'm a little jealous about the overnighter. I opt for just a bivvy bag with a sleeping bag as my sleeping arrangements nowadays. Shame the weather has started getting cold now. My pal isn't ready for the winter yet so im waiting til next summer now :(

Re: Both sides of the road of Glenshee 3rd time lucky

Cheers to both of you. It was a fair effort. I had done both sides of the road previously as separate walks so it was a first time for me too. Unfortunately the windy day had meant our clothes stayed on and there was no naked munro antics!!

Weather is getting to cold now for that lark!

Bennachie sprint off

A quick walk round Bennachie was the order of the day on monday. It was a last minute affair after a medical for work so the gear I had was what was left over from sunday. That consisted of my daysack, a litre of water and a banana. My walking boots were at home drying off so it was a pair of trail ...

Both sides of the road of Glenshee 3rd time lucky

So it took the 3 attempts to complete but its finally done!! We had planned to try and get round all the hills immediately surrounding Glenshee skie centre.
