I did it one January with no path and thigh deep snow - and even then it was only about 5h - you'll have loads of time :-)

I've left an entire rucksack of overnight gear at the Over Phawhope bothy whilst I walked for the day- no problem at all.

I parked in a lay-by a short distance along the road and walked back.
I didn't park on the private road - seemed rather rude.
It's not a huge walk so made little difference.

Nigheandonn - we were there today - on Melmerby Fell. Dry as toast and no insects at all. Similarly on Great Whernside in the Dales yesterday. Can't do either of those other dates as off to Outer Hebs on 2nd and currently working 23rd - though may be able to engineer a swap to 24th if that is the date that is selected.
