Considering this for the weekend using the standard Walkhighlands route - given the length was wondering if the initiial approach can be cycled. Was up above Alva yesterday near Craigleith. There's no path and came across this quite by accident. Don't normally approve of hill memorials, but this is so small out of the way. The plaque says "RIP Paul, enjoy the view". Anyway here is Paul's view...

Parked up at the Mamore Lodge Hotel and was on our way for half eight. As per the route description, parking here saves 200m of ascent, and being overweight and over 40 I wasn't going to pass up that easement... Weather was OK, but thick clag and rain coming on and off meant it was a very damp start...

Daresay the additional 200m of ascent will not kill us, but just wondering if it is OK to park at the hotel now it is closed, or is the car park locked?
