Re: Mark Avery - "The Inglorious Twelth"

What about the Hotels Bars Restaurants where the toffs eat sleep and drink, the petrol stations they top up the range rover the paper shop they get the Times and cigars a reckon they would miss the toffs big time. Am not a toff by the way i just like to look at the bigger picture of who will lose o...

Re: Mark Avery - "The Inglorious Twelth"

The point you stated was "Return the land to a natural state" which would imply that there would be no paths or trails. Plenty of toffs hillwalk and climb and steal public money. I'm sorry but your just being pedantic, grouse shooting has nothing to recommend it. And if, for example, the ...

Re: Walking the River Dee

SAM_0940 (690x388).jpg The Dee would be a lot easier than the Don for sure but the deeside way is to far away from the river bank for my liking. The Don would be a interesting stroll and has some good paths but as another poster already said some of the Don is a complete jungle. Some photos of the ...

Re: fishing while doing the Cairn Toul

Most trout in the Dee are sea trout probably due to the lack of food. Am guessing there would not be much food for trout in the Cairngorm lochs either. The Don on the other hand is the best troot river in all of Scotland and best fished in April when the fly's hatch the back oh lunch time and give a...

Re: Scottish Land Reform

This is spot on. With all the good conservation work going on and collapsing stocks, how the SNP got away with granting new netting rights while everyone else is trying to get netting banned I'll never know. Its heartbreaking stuff, especially when me and my friends give up our time and effort to ca...

Re: Scottish Land Reform

1. How have the SNP "wrecked west coast rivers and sea lochs" with an industry that predates their period in Government by decades? Fair enough they did not start the rot with the wretched fish farms but they are in a great position to do something about it by getting the owners to clean ...

Re: Scottish Land Reform

Clearly SNP and Sturgeon are not happy with just wrecking the west coast rivers and sea lochs with with filthy disgusting fish farms killing of wild Salmon and sea trout they now want to start telling land owners and game keepers how to run sporting estates. am guessing mass culling of stags for tr...

Re: Fishing techniques for highlands lakes and streams

I would agree with bydand loon. a cheap 3 peice 8-9ft fly rod reel line etc and a few wet flys would be your best chance as you do not need to be a expert caster fishing wet flys just cast out and pull the line back in slow with you hand. You could probably pick up the gear you need 2nd hand on ebay...

Re: Rabbit or hare

Thanks for the replies. i guess going by the amount of them about the mountain hare is not as scarce as the lowland brown hare.
I have never eaten hare which is probably the only game i have not eaten.
