Re: Spectacular snow on a favourite Glencoe Corbett

Err. Wow! Hooked from the first image with the Shepherd with its "jet stream cloud", even though it clearly wasn't with the lack of winds. The perfect day for that hill, I reckon. As always, a nice description and some truly special photos with great compositions. A snowy hill on a good da...

Re: Coigach Camping

Beautiful, superbly composed images and some fantastic light captured. It sounds like a fantastic few days, despite the late cloud. I would recommend the descent from Garbh Choireachan even more than the ascent, descending with the Summer Isles in front of you. I really need to get back to Coigach, ...

Re: the heat of life in the handful of dust - John Muir Tr

Fantastic, not sure how I missed this post.

I've been over ot the Sierra just once, many years ago, but only to the tourist spots really. Your photos took me right back, remembering just how amazing a landscape it is. A tough challenge too.

Thanks so much for posting.

Re: Small but Feisty: the rugged little hills of Flowerdale

Some superb photos of what is our own back garden. We've been walking these hills between Gairloch and Loch Maree for the last 4 years since we moved here. A fantastic mix of rocky little hills, crags and lochans. Pathless except An Groban and the walk in. We've never met anyone once beyond the pat...

Re: Small but Feisty: the rugged little hills of Flowerdale

That was great to read and see the photos of. I climbed An Groban with three of our kids on a family holiday in the late 1980s. Don't have the exact year and it was before I routinely carried a camera. Apart from the rocky steepness of it and the great views what I most remember about it was manhan...

Re: Small but Feisty: the rugged little hills of Flowerdale

Nice report! I’ve done this wee round a few times and I agree that it is top quality. Hard to think of a better hill walk that doesn’t go above 400m! It’s useful on days when the bigger hills are clagged in, but a clear day like you had is rewarded by terrific views. I think you picked the best des...

Re: From Fort William to Kinlochleven via Glen Nevis

As Paul says, the easiest route is via the WHW. However if you're looking for something a bit different and including hill walking, you could walk up Glen Nevis, then up the valley between Stob Ban & Sgurr a Mhaim following the Allt CHoire a Mhusgain. This brings you out onto the Mamores ridge a...

Re: Two hills with great views southeast of Applecross with

Those look like my sort of hills, interesting and will excellent views. Indeed I did look at them on the map a few weeks ago for a possible "on the way home" walk, but we didn't bother in the end. Wish we had. Thanks for sharing.

Small But Feisty – the rugged little hills of the Flowerdale glen. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53594037523_2f7dc5b528_b.jpg After coming out from our Suileag & Canisp bothy trip, and once pies had been obtained, we finally met up with Steve and headed for his new place near the Dundonne...

Re: Name that Corrie!

Thanks Steve. I had an inkling but your clue crystalised it!

OK, slightly cryptic as the corrie is mostly hidden! The corrie behind the shadowed peak and below the snow-spattered slopes.

Ta. Increasingly, just "living in the landscape" is what I get the most out of. Especially that landscape!
