Don't rely on apps, OS maps on my phone randomly can't be bothered to render the map or display my location, or displays my location miles from where I am. Best to use a paper map combined with a GPS. Never had a problem with a OS map showing or location on my phone and that is in flight mode, but ...

Lammergeier walk

Route to viewing spot for roosting Lammergeier in Peak District.
