Re: Can I have a "P" please Bob - Scotland (2nd edition)

Mac Bethad mac Findlaích; , or in English, Macbeth. Couldn't agree with you more since I read a book whose title I have now forgotten. Re: Can I have a "P" please Bob - Scotland (2nd edition)

Re: Can I have a "P" please Bob - Scotland (2nd edition)

Misrepresented by a later English pensman for political purposes, the real story is far more interesting and complicated than that portrayed.

Re: Can I have a "P" please Bob - Scotland (2nd edition)

Thanks, Alistair MacLean was one of my first literary loves, much to my English teacher's horror. If he had never written another word after HMS Ulysses he'd have been feted as one of the greats, His output declined in quality as the years went by, but he could fairly get the pulse racing. FS has b...

Re: Winter visitor

Wonderful birds. Seen them in their hundreds on the Ouse Washes in Winter, you can hear them coming miles off.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. You've caught a big one. This should lead you to the rest and what they are.

Think I'll hand over to someone else now, as I have neither the maps nor the willpower to go any further.

Beefsteak fungus

I think this is the Beefsteak fungus ((Fistulina hepatica). An old specimen on an ancient pollarded Ash. Looks like he's had a rough night and his tongue is showing the effects.😄
