Re: Recommendations for Liner Socks

I reckon the insole route is the best one to investigate first. If your foots sliding it will still slide even with thick sock and just overheat regardless of liner socks IMO. A mix of both would be my tuppence.

Re: Meindl boot equivalent

Going by looks and suitability try looking at the Keen range of boots like the KEEN Targhee III. Might be an option to consider.

Re: Purchased a Vango 60:70% Rucksack

Bit late to the party but for future readers the Highlander Ben Nevis 65 or 85lts are well featured bags for overnighters. I've got a 99lt but sits in the cupboard...who says size doesn't matter.

Re: Cycling in the hills

An interesting diversification on the OP topic. Best to get out and see how the knee copes.
As for mproudfoot..food for thought, from one foot to another.

Re: Cycling in the hills

Checking out some gravel bikes and I don't think the handle bar configuration is best suited to the routes that have been suggested in the OP request. The mixed terrain would be better suited to the MTB handle bar for a bit of elbow flex and stability over rocks. Just my opinion but haven't ridden a...

Re: Cycling in the hills

Not too familiar with the gravel bike option but I went with MTB with hybrid tyres fitted. Smooth on the easy going and a bit of chunk on the edges if it gets a bit muddy. Cuts down on the rolling resistance. Back on topic the previous suggestions are all good options. Will cycling help or hinder yo...

Re: Protecting rucksack from elements when using bivvy

Heavy duty wheelie bin liner or maybe you're orange survival bag...which you've got somewhere right..but never use it unless it's snowing for bum slides 😂. I prefer the don't bivvy in the rain if possible option.

Re: Handheld GPS recommendations

Without breaking the bank I'd say the Garmin eTrex 32x would be suitable for what you're needing. Will keep you on track and can be setup to alert if you've gone off track and hit turn points etc. Between your phone, in airplane mode, GPS and a map you'll be happy as...I'm sure there'll be more reco...

Re: Meindl Kansas Lady GTX Walking Boots

I don't want to be flippant but just do the same to the other boot and let them dry. Any colour change will be a matched pair maybe slightly darker than before. Waterproof and condition as normal. Job done. 👍

Re: Insoles

Think the fact the condition has only come on since you have started wearing your cheap boots is possible the crux of the problem. Maybe the sole isn't giving you enough support. Just something to consider. On the matter of insoles I've found the Sorbothane Double Strikes work for me.
