Bishop Hill.from Glen Vale

Started off from the car park on Dryside Road. Walked back down the road to the path through the woods. A good path through the woods and for quite a bit of the walk.

Lovely Walk Up The Knock

The weather was looking good for Crieff so my wife and I headed up to do the short walk up The Knock. This is only the second hill I’ve managed to get my wife to climb, the other was also a sub 2000, Benarty Hill.

It was a lovely autumn day

Boggy Walk up Dumglow

Some light rain about but that wasn’t going to stop me, Dumglow here I come. Straightforward walk up to the loch from the parking area. Walked along the south shore passing a few anglers. Had a wee chat with one of them. It started to get very boggy following the path, a squelch with every step. Rea...

Last Walk of the Week

High winds forecast again this week so opted for a sub 2000, Creag Na Doire Duibhe. More or less followed the route of Graeme D up and down. Not a difficult walk at all but strong winds in the exposed areas. Absolutely blowing a gale on the summit, definitely blew the cobwebs away.

Cruban Beag

I went for the craggy east side for this climb having read another report doing it from there. No real path up just a lot of wee scrambles and wading through the bracken. Eventually got to the summit, still a bit windy but great views as the clouds had lifted. Coming down was easier but wading throu...

What a Slog up

I thought I’d try and follow the Walk Highlands route, I mean how steep could it be? The climb up was a real slog, ducking under overhanging branches, trying not to slip on the rocks and muddy ground! All good fun I suppose.

Shortened Version of the Walk

Lovely walk to the summit. Good views although hazy over the bigger mountains. Strong winds on the summit, they were forecast so that’s why chose this smaller hill to climb today. Had a brief chat (actually more of a shout because of the wind) with a man who came up the way I was about to descend. H...

Straight Up and Down

Decided to just go up and down the same route on this climb having done a 15 mile hike over the 3 Monadhliath Munros the day before.

It was a good clear day with lots of blue sky around, I thought great, should get some excellent views at the summit.

Cloudy at top
