Re: CMD difficulty?

Good morning mate, I climbed this route 2 weeks past on Saturday, and am relatively inexperienced myself, Carn Mor Dearg itself was my 12th summit (Nevis was my 2nd via Tourist Path, 1 year previous). Another member of my walking group had only climbed Ben Lomond previously. It's a fairly long day, ...

Re: Snow on the hills?

The autumn colours on the trees look like they are going to be particularly good this year. That and the amount of hedgerow berries makes me think it might be the hardest winter we have had for a while. I live in the West Country and for the last few years I have been coming up to the Highlands for...

Snow on the hills?

Good evening guys, I hope you're all well. I was just looking to see if anyone was in the vicinity of Ben Nevis and could tell me if the snow has arrived yet? I know it has been sporadically forecast this week but is there any sitting snow? Hoping to maybe sneak a climb in if there remains to be no ...

Re: Next hill, what to do?

I'd seriously consider Mount Keen via Glen Tanar. It's north, it has a long walk in from Glen Tanar through a huge Pine Forest for a few miles then opens into a glen for another few miles before ascending Mount Keen itself. I just climbed Mount Keen from here at the weekend with a few friends and my...

Beinn Narnain/Ime v Ben Vorlich/Vane

Good Morning all, I hope you're all keeping well in these unusual times? I was hoping to gather some information on the above hills. I climbed Beinn Narnian & Beinn Ime this past weekend. It was a great climb, if tough at parts. We turned right up the faint path before the first zig of the zigza...

Re: Ben Vorlich & Stuc a'Chroin

I drove past on Sunday last week and there was a fair bit on both. It's not going to be much different given the weather this week, possibly more icy on the rockier parts. Both are pretty steep at points so a definite crampons and ice axe day. Good luck with it! Umm it’s been practically tropical t...

Could anyone suggest some walks?

Hi all, A few friends and I have been doing a bit of walking the last little while. We've climbed Ben Nevis, Ben Lomond (several times) and The Cobbler of late and decided to yo the ante and tackled Ben Vorlich & Stuc a'Chroin near Callander. We are going to tackle Beinn Narnian & Beinn Ime ...

Ben Vorlich & Stuc a'Chroin

Looking to climb these two beauties tomorrow morning, was just hoping someone was nearby and could let me know how they're looking?

Is there lying snow etc?

Thanks.

Re: Ben Narnain van The Cobbler?

Sounds like a good walk you had to be fair. Can't give you much advise on routes, only to have a look at the relevant maps and see what you can see for yourself. I quite like just shooting on my own of the paths when I'm out solo. For me, just making sure you have the right gear for navigation and ...

Re: Ben Narnain van The Cobbler?

Hi Jamie, thanks for your reply. I’m not too sure which gung-ho attitude you’re referring too? I have literally asked if there is a path leading from the Northern summit of The Cobbler to Ben Narnain or, better yet, a map with detailed views of the paths used to climb said hills. I have been operati...
