I use a kodak playsport. They are cheap (kodak has gone bust) but I think you can still get them. Some bits were with my iphone, but when the weather gets bad, the kodak can get soaked, as it is totally waterproof.

I find it best to screenshot the views i want, then print out the screenshots.
cmd shift 4 on a mac, no idea on a PC.
Helps if you have a big monitor.

I've had a north face observatory jacket for a year now. Which I guess isn't as tough being gore tex paclite, but I honestly can't fault it. It's kept me warm and dry in all conditions, and breathes pretty well.

I'd say you can't go wrong with a point 5.
