Little Wyvis the easy way

Landowner signs are a little off putting saying CCTV surveillance nearly all the way up. One sign said beware of shooting and gave a mobile number to ring for landowners permission. I tried calling that number but no answer, now recorded message and no notice saying there was a shoot that day so car...

Mayar

Quite a drive over to Glen Doll, raining most of the way there Lovely walk through the forest and Corrie Fee is spectacular, lovely water fall at the end. Path is quite clear to Mayar but the cloud came down and it was not safe to carry on to Driesh so returned by the same route. Quite steep and sli...

Great drive in past herds of young red stags on the roadside. Early start to get parked and away before it got too warm. Good parking area and place to camp. Lovely walk in by the burn, nice and steady . Steps up a gear once you cross the second burn getting steeper. Constant climb to the top of the...

Beinn Udlamain and Sgairneach Mhor

Started early which was great. Parked in layby 79, nice and quiet and not too hot. Straightforward start. you can take either bridge. I ended crossing the second one which is a more direct route to summit of Sgaineach Mhor but probably steeper. Not fit so found it hard going. Short break then on to ...

Beautiful day out, sharp frost and icy with clear blue skies and watery winter sun. Knock Hill Parked at pull in, second turn after farm. Path is first right after the first stone barn - not very obvious. Path through trees and along fence line. Very icy under foot. Walked the path into the trees, n...

Abriachan Trails

This was a great walk with Rosemary, rained just about the whole time, snow on the top and cloud meant we couldn't see much but we thoroughly enjoyed it anyway. Left the walking pole in the car which was a pain because it would have been useful. Path is good throughout but it was a bit slippy in pla...

Loch Affric Circuit

Fab day out with Jo. Glorious autumn day with autumn colours. Rain showers gave us lots of rainbows. Golden Eagle. Burn was in spate and difficult to cross - walking pole a must for this. Other than that a straightforward walk on good clear paths. Lots of water in the river. Scots Pine are magnifice...
