Derry Lodge

After nearly three years of no walking managed to overnight at the Linn of Dee on the way back from working at Aberdeen Country Fair. Stopped at the Invercauld Hotel for dinner, wife's price for the detour (did not know that the Fife Arms was closed for refurbishment). Had a good nights sleep in the...

Binnein Mor & Na Gruagaichean

Decided to take advantage of the fair forecast and met Ian and Jake the dug for a wee wander in the Mamores. Set off at about 08.45 and quickly got lost on the other side of the car park. Got a little sidetracked on the myriad of paths and missed where the Loch Eilde Mor path crossed a stream, ended...

Sgor na h-Ulaidh - 50+ club outing

After weeks of high winds finally a forecast of light winds and clear skies, a chance not to be missed. Due to the lack of hill fitness a relatively short walk with not too much travel and a blue bubble for all was picked. Arranged to meet Steve, Ian and Jake the dug at the Invercharnan car park at ...

The Nebit

Finally attained enough motivation to get out and about and see how much damaged 7 weeks of 7 day 10 hour+ working had done, wish I had a pound for every key stroke made. Damp, drear and low cloud but no wind, first time for weeks, Just a short walk to blow out the lungs and stretch the tendons. Con...

Beinn Each - again

With Ian and Jake the dug, lay in for this one, on the hill for just after 8, forgot how steep this one is. Weather not as forecast, lots of cloud with light rain/sleet showers. Ground was quite firm with a dusting of new snow which got deeper as height was gained. Cloud cleared enough for a couple ...

Re: A good drying day - Beinn Chaorach

Thanks RH, had a good run on the hills at the end of last year but a visit to Amsterdam, Christmas over indulgence and 7 day working have taken there toll on the fitness levels.

A good drying day - Beinn Chaorach

At last some reasonable weather coincided with a weekend. So with the unkowns as in what quantity of fresh snow has fallen and lack of hill time a short walk was planed Suprising that after a clear, full moon night there was not a frost and the temp was above freezing. Myself, Ian and Jake the dug, ...
