Re: My first solo walk and three more in the bag

SAVAGEALICE wrote:Have you done a lot of ski touring?

Not much at all. I've rented gear from Braemar mountain sports on occasion when a friend of mine whom is very experienced has talked me into going. I love skiing but the invention of the chair lift is something I am grateful for

Re: Unconventional route - Glen Lyon

I prefer to think of it as trailblazing! Despite the various navigational issues I still had a good day out! Thanks for keeping me company for a day in the hills.

And the pace you and Derek set off at you can hardly call me a fast walker!!

The weather looks decent both Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday works a little better for me if you're still keen?

Aces. Does Monday or Tuesday work better for you? If you're flexible then I suggest waiting till the weekend and picking the day based on the forecast.

I'll warn you now that I'm not one of the fastest walkers on here!

Re: Free 12>25 September (Can Travel)

I'm free 12-14th so could do something then. The 12th would be better for me, as would somewhere in the cairngorms.

I'm free on 23rd. Where are you based? Did you have a route/area in mind?

Re: Midweek days in the highlands

Yeah that's a good plan. Looks like an interesting hike. Since it's a long one a pretty early start would be best.

Re: Midweek days in the highlands

I can do either 24th or 25th. Not done much around the cairngorms so I wouldn't mind a stroll around that area. Its about halfway between us too....

Re: Midweek days in the highlands

Wow huge response! I'm back onshore now so have 3 weeks open to get into the hills. If the weather clears up how does either this Wednesday or next tues/wed suit?
