Re: That ‘sinking feeling’ on Mungrisdale Common

Great report Mike but there are no pics showing for me just a little square saying "click for photo"....when I click it I still get the same :wtf: maybe it's just something to do with accessing from hotel internet as I'm on the road right now. Anyway, still an enjoyable read without pics ...

Re: Middle Fell, Haycock, Caw, Seatallan and Buckbarrow - Da

Nice report, I had to laugh at the ODG story!

I have fond memories of these fells as I camped near Hike Pikehow near Haycock and had lovely views of Seatallan at dusk and at dawn. When I climbed Haycock the next morning it was snowing and that was June!

I still need Buckbarrow for my list. :)

Hartsop Circular

Thursday 16th April 2015 Hartsop circular walk I set off from Sykeside campsite after a frosty night. The sky was blue and the sun was warming things up quickly. I arrived at Hartsop village and headed for the top car park and the footbridge to cross Pasture Beck. I had a good view of the first hill...

Re: Some central Fells

Considering your legs ached from the previous day, that's a decent walk!

You must me mopping up fells you haven't done before.

I was in the lakes last week as well; the weather was great wasn't it?

Looking forward to some pics. :)

Re: Halfway on Bowscale Fell

Nice pics, love the one of the steam coming off the fell. Been a few months since it was hot enough to do that I bet

The diversion at the bottom of Souter Fell isn't too bad is it?

Looks like you had a good day!

Re: Pillar from Gatesgarth Buttermere

Some nices pics there. Like the last pic of Pillar rock looks almost Alpine! :D

I did these two a few years ago although not that descent route. They are re-wilding Ennerdale, removing the conifers and planting native trees I think. Not a bad thing.

Re: Raven Crag to Ullscarf

Dramatic pictures, Mike. Plenty of good stuff to see from the parts of the route below the cloud. Nice views or the Thirlmere valley and surrounding snowy hills. That day I was on Swirl How - no view from the top either, but great, clear views from halfway up (including Blackpool Tower!). I was on ...

Re: The Place (Fell) to be on a lovely morning.

Nice little walk in great conditions. I know what you mean about the scenery looking monochrome this time of year, I was thinking that about the pics on my last report. How long will the snow last ?

Nice pic of Middle Dodd behind Brothers Water :)

Re: Raven Crag to Ullscarf

Strange how deceptive photographs can look. I was on those fells the day before, starting and finishing below Walla Crag and the snow in places was up to my knees! From your photos and some I took you would find that hard to believe. Ps. Check out some of my posts Mike G. Regards 2171. Hi Iain, the...
