Re: Ben Wyvis (in the dark)

Great blog and photos, must be some view from there at sunrise. I am keen on using some of these photographs for one of my work reports and wondered if I could get in touch with you to give some more details, in order to seek your permission? In case he doesnt respond here, try https://tw...

Re: 10 Day Voyage to the Antarctic Peninsula

Stunning trip! I was there earlier this year and was thinking of posting a report or two of some hikes we did. We went to most of the places you did. It's hard to put into words what it's like there - so different from anywhere else in the world 8)

Re: This week's stupid Ben Nevis rescue call

I don't know what the weather was like that night. The next few days west highland forecast is between 11-18C at 900m, and small to negligible wind. Even a bit higher on nevis, wouldn't be a different world. It's a reasonable assumption that MRT were comfortable leaving a wet person up there in what...

Re: Isle of Mull - Carsaig Bay & Nuns Cave

Good problem to have!

I'm on the road for work- my typically American problem today is deciding which steakhouse we are hitting for lunch :D

Re: My Completion...Ladhar Bheinn from Corran

Well done with the completion, looks like you got a nice day for it. Slightly surprisingly (I think), Ladhar Bheinn is the fourth most popular Munro to finish on. Can I just check: did you take the prayer flags down with you? From your report it sounds suspiciously like you didn't, but you don't de...

Re: Google Map update

That could be handy.

As an aside, i find Bing satellite maps for Scotland much better quality than Google. Sites like http://www.jonasson.org/maps/ are handy for viewing both Google and Bing at the same time

Re: Stac Pollaidh - how hard is the scramble to true summit?

I'll just chime in here to say that I'm usually comfortable with most scrambling, but when I was on Stac Pollaidh it was wet and I didn't consider it safe enough to attempt the final scramble to get to the summit. Did think about it for a while though :D

Re: Jewel in the Torridon crown

Absolutely beautiful 8)
This was one of my favorite walks. I did it in full white winter conditions on a perfect day (report on here). Such a beautiful area.
