Re: Child Carrying Harness / Packs

Hi Ryan, The Littlelife carrier we had the use of did not come with a rain cover so we purchased one separately (it had a sun shade similar to the "roof" style one in your Deuter picture. The Littlelife rain cover we bought is good quality and covers the full face (with zips either side so...

Re: Fisherfield via An Teallach

Hey RH, Will need to log back on later to see your photos in their splendour as our work internet is rubbish! However, spotted you were on 281 and wanted to add my best wishes for the last one which is no doubt very much in your sights in the near future! At one point (before the arrival of my 2 yea...

Re: All terrain pushchair help please

Hi, We have the Jane Trider Travel System for our son who will be 2 next month and have been very pleased with it's performance overall. It's coped with most of what we have thrown at it and we have had it round many a woodland trail and low level walk. The wheels are around 8 inches in diameter and...

Re: 12Volt Cool Boxes For Car Use

We picked one up from Go Outdoors at a reasonable price (think it's an Outwell). It came with Mains and Car leads and can do hot or cold. We are actually on our 3rd one although current one has proved to be reliable (had this one for around 3 years I would guess). First one was replaced as the handl...

Re: Skye guides?

I'll just add my standard recommendation for Mike Lates and his team...like I do every time this question is posed! Have used them on 3 separate occasions for multi day bookings (we weren't always as lucky with the weather!) and always had a great time and felt safe and secure.

Re: Please educate me on Gore Tex Pro (Jackets)

Hi Ian, I need to stand corrected I'm afraid as it would appear the Sidewinder is also 3 layer. My jacket doesn't have an inner mesh lining - everything is bonded together in the hardshell. I'm happy with the jacket - and it hasn't let me down so far - but have to confess to being drawn into the &qu...

Re: Please educate me on Gore Tex Pro (Jackets)

Hi, I'm not really posting this as a review as such, or as a technical insight into Gore Tex Pro, however, it might provoke some thoughts. I have the Arteryx Sidewinder which I think is possibly 4 layer Gore-Tex Pro - I've had it a few years and managed to pick it up with a hefty discount in the Tis...

Re: Repairs ? - North Face Zephyrus Windshell

Have literally just given this firm the go ahead to put a new zip on the wife's GT trousers. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination (at £30) but there's some legs in them yet (hee hee) so still economically sound if you ask me. They seem to do a wide range of repairs so maybe worth a look (depe...

Re: Cuillin ridge guides

Nice to see a wee pic of Gillian who pushed on with the wife and I to knock off our remaining munros on the ridge on day one of our two day booking so that she could get us up over Clach Glas and onto Bla Bheinn and offer us a real sense of achievement!! One of our best days in the hills and Gillian...

Re: Failed Berghaus Packlight Waterproofs

Good to hear you got it sorted. Have always found service to be good at Tiso, even if you do pay a bit of a premium for it at times. Here's hoping your new waterproofs don't get much use over the "summer". :)

Re: Failed Berghaus Packlight Waterproofs

The wife changed hers after tearing them on their first outing a few years back - took them back to Tiso as not being fit for purpose (she had discussed at length with an assistant what they were for - hillwalking - before stumping up the £110 or so). Tiso fully accepted this and changed them no pro...

Re: Skye Munros in June

Hi, My wife nor I had worked with ropes or abseiled before going out with Mike and his team. He's not cheap (consider what you're achieving here) but comes highly recommended. We have booked with him on 3 separate occasions and have now done all the Skye munros (some on our own but being out with th...
