Re: photobucket

Some weird goings on with this photophucket lark... I knew my pics had gone down when facebook recently did a memory share thingy of my Kintail 9 report. Strangely, however, when reading this thread I saw below a walkhighlands link to a thread which featured one of my pics of Nevis beyond the Pap of...

Re: Magnificent 9 of South Sheil

Great stuff James!

I take it there was enough wee pockets of bog water for the dogs?

There was many dried up bog beds on the Fannaichs this week, which had me wondering how you'd be getting on at Glen Sheil.

Re: 2 day basecamp at Lochan Fada - Fisherfields the easy wa

When I arrived at Lochivraon Bothy at 10.30pm on Tuesday night, the other occupant of said bothy was all tucked up in his sleeping bag and in no great mood to be sociable. Because of this, my Tuesday allocation of alcoholic beverages rolled over to the Wednesday. So, fast forward to Wednesday...

Re: Fisherfield

I don't know about camping on the tennis court ST, I remember it being a solid slab and slopier than it looks in the photos! Of course I often remember things wrongly.. Ha ha basscadet. I think your probably right. It was a few years ago I was up there and I didn't camp there but it's a cool...

Lost Dog Harness on the Mamores...

Tarsuinn, or Houdini as he is now known, managed to escape from his brown size medium Doxlock harness today. Must have happened somewhere between the wooded area in Kinlochleven and the cairn where the paths meet/split for Sgurr Eilde Mor and Binnein Beag etc. We retraced our route and expected to f...

Yes, that's the one.

Hutchison's Bothy just out of shot, which would have made it much easier to identify.

Over to you Petr.

Re: Scottish Government approves Lomond camping ban

I agree with the ban if it keeps the place clean and no damage done to the area, plus the residents that have to live here will get some peace. Banning people from climbing Ben Nevis would also keep the mountain clean of all the excessive rubbish and damage free. Would allow the deer, the hare, the...

Re: Name that Corrie!

Well, a last minute guess then  Is it Coire Dubh on Sgurr na h-Ulaidh? Yes, yes it is indeed! I'm surprised nobody got that sooner, especially as it was what I thought the last coire posted was, I thought it was going to be rather obvious...   Your turn Silverhill. :)

Sorry not anywhere near Applecross.

This coire, on the slopes of a munro, would be found south of the Great Glen.

Congratulations to Caberfeidh on breaking 5,000 posts!

Ever since I joined the online society of Walk Highlands many years ago, one of the things which I've always looked forward to, is the regular dose of wit and unconventional humour from our very own, revered Caberfeidh. It is quite fitting, as we near a time of joyous festivities, that this years mu...

Re: West Highland Way with Dogs

My spaniel has accompanied me on the WHW twice. Both times we camped all the way, so I can't really comment regarding other accomodation. What I would say, is that although fitness is essential, it doesn't guarantee that your dogs won't succumb to severe pad abrassion. I noticed last time when trave...
