Re: Cobbler and Eye of The Needle

I've never heard of any formal guided trips that people can join. I think if you are looking for guided help on threading the needle, you'd need to book a individual guide for that. Have a look https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/guides.shtml

Re: Download Walks

Hi Jock - are you using our app? It is the app that allows you to download walks.

You can find out about it (and install it) only via this link:

Re: The North Face

Whilst people have largely been respectful with their posts, this thread seems to have gone way off topic. The course says nothing about what sort Britain is like compared with anywhere else. Please keep any further posts strictly on topic / away from wider politics.

Re: The North Face

Having seen this thread we've completed this course this afternoon. Firstly, the course is aimed specifically at people working in the outdoors in the UK, though I think lots of other people might find it useful and interesting. It is really not saying that the people who go to the hills are racist ...

Re: Access from Dalwhinnie station

Does anyone know why the gate has been locked at the Ben Alder side platform ? I understand it was locked by the person who owns the land immediately on the far side of the platform (not the estate). According to CNP, although access rights apply to this land, they cannot request unlocking since th...

Re: Access from Dalwhinnie station

We have been asked by Dalwhinnie residents to continue to feature the walkers car park (I've missed the words 'walkers car park' from the end of my original post) which was specially developed for this purpose, and not to feature the underpass as the main route due to the parking problems this will ...

Re: Connection is not secure

Can't help thinking this might be a clue Afraid not, as mentioned this is just a personal forum setting - you can change the times you see if you go to account settings, then board preferences, then choose time zone / daylight savings etc. If deleting the app, then deleting your full chrome history...

Re: Connection is not secure

Thanks for PM. Just to confirm the forum time isn't relevant for the certificate - it doesn't matter whether you are on GMT or not as that is just a forum setting. Our certificate is all correct and up to date. Do you have your phone set to the correct date? That could cause problems. Otherwise you ...

Re: The Highlands don't need or want parking charges!

They have backed down on the overnight parking after the initial consultation (the article in the paper was out of date). It will now be allowed (for a fee).

Re: The Highlands don't need or want parking charges!

Just for info, this is from Highland Council with regards to this scheme: We are prohibited to use on street parking charges as revenue schemes , they are solely for traffic management purposes to improve driver behaviour and manage availability. All of the money raised from this particular scheme i...

Re: Walking the length of the Tay

There is actually an official River Tay Way, not launched / official as yet. It doesn't stick by the river all the way though; it will also end at Perth. We've the first stage up on Walkhighlands here: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/kenmore-aberfeldy-tay.shtml Soon after Aberfeldy it wil...
