Re: From Fort William to Kinlochleven via Glen Nevis

Kinlochleven isn't actually in Glen Nevis. You could cross the Mamores, but no doubt the most straightforward walking route would be to reverse the final stage of the West Highland Way.

Re: Auchlean to Glenmore Advice

We've a detailed description for most of that:

https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/cairngorms/kincraig-aviemore.shtml

Where you diverge from that, from Loch an Eilein to Loch Morlich, is on large, clear paths.

Re: Linn of Tummel Circuit

I don't know if the bridge has reopened yet, but there was a signed diversion that went over the railway and then the road bridge. Do let us know if you find things have changed - email link in every walk description to do this.

Re: Access blocked

Hi Pam I'm not sure entirely where you were walking, but I don't think you were walking the route on Walkhighlands - is that correct? You can make a complaint about blocked access to the Highland Council access officer. Their details are on this page: https://www.highland.gov.uk/info/1225/countrysid...

Re: The silliest sign you've seen on a walk?

This was a potential campsite emergency I was really looking forward to.

Re: Fife Coastal Path - Erosion near Boarhills?

Yes - you can pass it on the beach unless it's high tide.

Re: Cobbler and Eye of The Needle

I've never heard of any formal guided trips that people can join. I think if you are looking for guided help on threading the needle, you'd need to book a individual guide for that. Have a look https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/guides.shtml

Re: Links getting shortened

Thanks again - this should be sorted out again now. It was a slightly different bug to the old one.

Re: Download Walks

Hi Jock - are you using our app? It is the app that allows you to download walks.

You can find out about it (and install it) only via this link:

Re: The North Face

Whilst people have largely been respectful with their posts, this thread seems to have gone way off topic. The course says nothing about what sort Britain is like compared with anywhere else. Please keep any further posts strictly on topic / away from wider politics.

Re: The North Face

Having seen this thread we've completed this course this afternoon. Firstly, the course is aimed specifically at people working in the outdoors in the UK, though I think lots of other people might find it useful and interesting. It is really not saying that the people who go to the hills are racist ...

Re: Access from Dalwhinnie station

Does anyone know why the gate has been locked at the Ben Alder side platform ? I understand it was locked by the person who owns the land immediately on the far side of the platform (not the estate). According to CNP, although access rights apply to this land, they cannot request unlocking since th...

Re: Access from Dalwhinnie station

We have been asked by Dalwhinnie residents to continue to feature the walkers car park (I've missed the words 'walkers car park' from the end of my original post) which was specially developed for this purpose, and not to feature the underpass as the main route due to the parking problems this will ...
