Re: Car park campervanning

This from ForestandLand Scotland seems reasonable - https://forestryandland.gov.scot/staythenight, though it would exclude those vans without facilities.

Re: pmr446 radio emergency channel

A hand held would be useful in helping guide in the emergency services combined with a PLB ,to rely on a hand held radio on its own would be foolhardy, You will not get very far with your signal , generally on the flat you can achieve line of sight and no further, despite the best efforts and countle...

Re: Rocketing Fuel Costs!

I drive a medium size van as part of my job , I'm a mobile sparkie for the NHS , I'm averaging just short of £130.00 a fill , I generally fill up every three working days ,so I'm probably getting through £210.00 a week , I do try to drive frugally and manage an average 42.5 mpg

Re: Trenchant comment on the Ukraine situation from a walker

The grafitt led me to suspect that the individual was probably an asylum seeker ,the graffiti was attacking mostly the police and MI5 ,there were references to the NHS as well and comments about freedom to work

Re: Trenchant comment on the Ukraine situation from a walker

There was quite a bit of graffiti on the whw from rowardenan on wards , looked like it came from an asylum seeker with mental health problems ,his statements were aimed at the police ,mi5 , the NHS and not being allowed to work , I found it very annoying as the individual had written something on mo...

Re: Bothy in front of Buachaille Etive Mor

At a mountaineering thing in Fort Bill a few years ago Yvonne Chouinard [the original Yvonne of the Yukon] regaled us with a funny tale from years back in Jacksonville. He and a bunch of others were festering in the hut as the weather was terrible. The hut was a filthy state, with a dead rat lying ...

Re: Male and on your phone biggest dangers in Scotland

How would certification be policed ?
Are you going to ban all men over the age of 60 from climbing anything higher than a Zimmer frame ?

As a 64 year old man ,I'd rather die of A heart attack doing a pursuit that I enjoy as opposed to lying in a hospital bed wearing big nappies
