Re: Norfolk: Edith Cavell Pilgrimage Walk

Thanks so much for this. I'd never heard of this route but love the journey you describe, especially those fabulous Norfolk church towers. I was a student at UEA 1970-73 and later developed a love for hills and Munros especially (compleated 2012). Was back in Norfolk a few years ago, and the delight...

Re: East Highland Wild Way

Wow! Truly inspiring and pretty hardcore. I agree about the 'official' EHW and am grateful for your inspiration and very useful tips.

Here's to the next innovative long hike!

no way up Geal-Charn Mor?

The new WH Newsletter reminds me about my misfortune with this Corbett. You might find this amusing at my expense, though it didn't amuse me at the time! I decided to leave the car at home and go to a zone of Scotland using public transport. From Newtonmore, I got the bus up the A9 to Kincraig, from...

Rob Roy Way - Amulree

A heads up to those doing the variant of the RR Way, and to anyone walking around Amulree in Perthshire: a superb tea shop has very recently opened. It's about a mile south of the derelict hotel on the A822 and serves superb coffee, tea, cakes and light meals. For now, it just opens on Fridays, Satu...

Re: Just joined

Thanks for being in touch. Someone told me that, once you get that far, you'll keep the motivation to the end!

That's a classic for your final climb. Hope you enjoy the next 82!

Re: Just joined

Thanks. First I want to get to Carn an Fhidleir and An Sgarsoch, which I've repeatedly side-stepped on grounds of awkward approach. I'll go from Glen Feshie and back the same way, probably with a bothy or tent stop before walking out on Day 2. Then saving Meall na Teanga for the last one. As it will...

Just joined

Have reached 280 Munros and am hoping to complete by my 60th in early June. It's taken a while -- since 1989, but am thrilled to be this near. Also excited at being able to move other things, e.g. some Corbetts, multi-day routes, up the list of priorities. Hope to hear from others with similar exper...
