Re: Forum user survey

As in plain obvious ones about common blunders, not really watch out for a bush that may have wasps  . Haha... No, it was like 100metres of exotic flowers and it wasn't even THAT sunny out, yet there were millions of wasps. If i were to get stung... god knows what would have happened! I ran up...

Re: Forum user survey

I only use a few but i think some features are a little OTT such as gaelic pronuciations and Google earth - kool the first time you use it but not really all that helpful. On a side note, i would like to see some kind of "danger alert" on each walk. This may sound stupid but when i was goi...

Re: Navigational Skills (or lack thereof!)

Another resource could be military manuals related to map & compass skills. I've never seen the UK Army ones, but I'll bet they are very good and simple to read. The US Army Land Navigation Field Manual is outstanding, and written to an elementary school level, so anyone can grasp the content. ...

Trust me, you don't want to know.

No really, trust me, I do want to!

You have to trust me though because i know what makes me "legendary" and i have calculated that you don't (really) want to know (against your will of course).

Re: Cuillin ridge - what is realistic?

I don't see the point in deliberately handicapping yourself. Take all you need (i.e. option C) and you won't regret anything (unless of course the rope tangles you and you fall off a mountain :?)

Good Luck! :)

Ben Ledi - Can i walk it?

It says on here that you need hiking equipment but at the moment, i don't have any but still want to climb Ben Ledi. 10 or so days ago i went to Stank Glen and that was pretty easy and seen the route to take me to Ben Ledi but thought it might be too difficult. As an inexperienced hiker, do you thin...

Re: Grassy slopes

Yeah it does stretch. I was going to say, going down on an angle were your back is closer to the ground than your front, and encourage falls but since your ready, the falls wont be bad (only if your wearing gloves) because if you slip with your feet you have your hands low to the ground to hault you...

Re: Winter Beinn MacDuibh (MacDui)

Excellent report!!!

It would be especially useful to anyone doing it in the snow!

I would love to have done what you did but well done on getting right to it shortly after an asthma attack (even though it was because you had already paid )
