Re: Fieldfare ?

Its hard to be 100% but I would go 99% with Fieldfare due to the more contrasting breast colour to the underparts. I have lightened it a bit below so you can see it :D

Sveti Ilija, Croatia

Whilst doing a wee bit of pre-holiday research for our recent family holiday to Croatia I found out that the highest point on the Peljesac peninsula, Sveti Ilija was right on our doorstep so thought it would be rude not to spend a day going up it and give the wife and weans peace to wander the town ...

Re: Kilimanjaro

Great stuff, congrats! How many other teams were on the mountain? I've seen some pretty offputting photos of huge camps. For the first 2 days there was about 40 trekkers not counting porters etc After getting to Barranco our route joined with Machame and the numbers probably doubled. When we...

Kilimanjaro - Morum/Lemosho Route

The adventure started with a 3 am drive to Glasgow airport to meet up with the rest of Team Whiteleys to catch our first of our 2 flights with a short hop to Amsterdam. After a long walk and a wee coffee it was time for our flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. After 8.5 hours or so we touche...

Beinn Narnain and Beinn Ime

Started off at 0630 from Succoth car park on a dreich morning with Froach. Headed up the Coire a'Bhalachain path taking a right after a couple of hundred yards making a Bee line up through the woods towards Narnain. I think I walked up the burn for most of the way through the smirry rain. The rain s...

Beinn Cabhair

Once again had great weather for a wee hill walk. Parked the car in at the Drovers and headed off with the dog. Crossed the bridge and entered the field to the left following the path round the side of the river to the edge of the campsite. From here I accidentally turned onto the West Highland way ...

Ben Macdui

Started off at the ski centre car park on a glorious July morning and took the route along the front of the corrie faces up towards the Larig Gru. Paths were great due to this cracking summer we have had up here. The uphill starts here but you are rewarded with great views of the Fiacaill buttress. ...

Duncolm

First hill walk of 2019 and a wee one to start with. Set off from the temporary car park with my faithful dog Fraoch (AKA Daftarse) up the road and track to Loch Humphrey. The path up to the loch was pretty busy (too busy for my liking ) but soon tailed off when we got to the loch. Headed round...

Common Hill

Chose a nice wee easy one to try and encourage my son and Mrs out onto the hills. Set off for the hours drive down to Douglas and parked at the outdoor centre just before the Hagshaw Hill Windfarm entrance and set off up the hill with Jimbob (My dad), Nikki, Dec and Daftarse . Ben More (Mull)

Best day of the year so far as me and the dog set off for Dhiseig. Parked the car on the grassy makeshift carpark on the sea side of the road and set off for the summit along the road to the house then on to the field up the side of the burn. From here it was up through the next gate onto slightly m...
