Drumcroy Hill

We managed to get a couple of hours free from the wives  whilst on a wee staycation at Tummel Valley Caravan Park. The ladies decided to go swimming so Craig and Myself found a wee local Sub 2000 to stretch the legs that was only a couple of mile up the road. Headed off from the park a couple o...

Benbeoch

Woke up, seen it was a good day and decided to go for a wee dauner and tick off one of the local Sub 2000's. Had a wee look at Google earth for a different route to previous walk reports and set off with Fraoch in tow for the New Cumnock-Dalmellington Road (B741). I parked across from the entrance o...

Beneraird and Knockdolian

:) My initial plan was to drive down the A77 and park in the lay by on the hill near Carlock House, head along the Water of App then along the Leana burn to Beneraird but major works to reinforce the embankment meant the lay by was closed so after a quick reassessment I headed round towards Kilwhann...

Craigenreoch to Haggis Hill Circuit

First hill walk of the year and badly needing to lose a few pound and build the fitness levels up again. Started with a straight forward one that was pretty local. Set off and realised I forgot to put memory cards in my camera bag so tried a couple of shops in Maybole to no avail so ended up with a ...

Re: Fieldfare ?

Its hard to be 100% but I would go 99% with Fieldfare due to the more contrasting breast colour to the underparts. I have lightened it a bit below so you can see it :D

Sveti Ilija, Croatia

Whilst doing a wee bit of pre-holiday research for our recent family holiday to Croatia I found out that the highest point on the Peljesac peninsula, Sveti Ilija was right on our doorstep so thought it would be rude not to spend a day going up it and give the wife and weans peace to wander the town ...

Re: Kilimanjaro

Great stuff, congrats! How many other teams were on the mountain? I've seen some pretty offputting photos of huge camps. For the first 2 days there was about 40 trekkers not counting porters etc After getting to Barranco our route joined with Machame and the numbers probably doubled. When we...

Kilimanjaro - Morum/Lemosho Route

The adventure started with a 3 am drive to Glasgow airport to meet up with the rest of Team Whiteleys to catch our first of our 2 flights with a short hop to Amsterdam. After a long walk and a wee coffee it was time for our flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. After 8.5 hours or so we touche...
