Re: Steep start - again

Each time I read about that steep ascent I'm glad that my prefered route is from the other side. I have a report on that route posted here but don't know how ot link it. I'm sure those that want to find it can do so.

Re: Manor via Dead Wife’s Grave and Posso Rig

As a resident of Peebles I have done the Drumelzier group of Donalds a few times but always from Drumelzier 'village' Thanks for posting this as it will be an interesting alternative route.

Re: Drab Damp Dirge of Donalds

Sorry to hear that you had such a miserable day on these hill. I have done these hills a few times and would not have considered coming from the east. For Blackcraig and Blacklorg I started from the road at Blackcraig in Glen Afton. For Alhang and Windy Standard plus those 'Tops' started from below ...

Re: Uamh Bheag circuit

A good circular walk there and a tiresome ascent to include Am Beannan. I would say a walk to enjoy if it wasn't for the peat - hags after Uamh Bheag. You went to the summit of Beinn nan Eun, you can claim this as a Donald along with Uamh Bheag. Well done on your first trip to Scotland and hope ther...

Striding Arches, Moniaive

I first came across Striding Arches in a tourist leaflet in 2016 and decided to explore with a view to leading my friends on the circuit. I reviewed reports in this forum to try and find a way which was a circuit rather than linear along forest roads. The first walk was a disaster; Dibbin Lane was n...

Everywhere so far is a NO :(

Think of it as a crossword clue:- What word links fish, fin, tail, white and tiger?

Get your teeth into that :D

Re: Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

The clues are lost on me, can only guess. Loch Spelve? Same here Loch Sguabain . Loch Sguabain - NO (that's got that bit out of the way) Loch Sguabain is about the same size as my location. It is up north so get off Mull and don't start looking until after you pass Ullapool. You and Charles have do...

Re: Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

The clues are lost on me, can only guess. Loch Spelve? Touché Charles. I'm getting my own back  Loch Spelve? - NO Again you have taken the wrong direction (should you be allowed on the hills?) but close by your last location is a prominent place that is also named at LS . And go north - well n...

Nope - that's not it :( . "From Largs to Lismore and keep going", I said. Didn't say turn right

Re: Can I have a 'P' please Bob - Scotland

Loch Sloy???? There was an access tunnel with “strictly no access – danger of spalling”.... you can fish or dip your toes in it and the Loch Sloy beer is brewed with Castle Danger spruce (allegedly). It's still a NO :( but you are both closer and further away :? Consider Largs to Lismore and the wr...
