Re: Beinn Fhionnlaidh - relieving the lockdown pressure.

You would think that boulder was placed there like that - very strange! We were up Kinlochleven and quite surprised how quiet it was, thought they'd be hoards of people escaping the central belt!

Sun and snow up two Munros

It was an amazing sunny day and good forecast meant I was heading for the mountains rather than putting up shelves :o I headed off at half 6, always painful on a Sunday, after heavy rain on the M9, I was soon being chased my manic cars on the Lochearnhead road, desperate to get around - maybe a few ...

Thick snow up Mor Bheinn

I choose this walk on the sunny and calm Saturday 21st, lots of snow and icy roads meant I didn't want to take the beast (my 1 litre city car...) too far after a rather blizzardy drive up to St Fillans on the Friday. It was a good choice for the day, and surprisingly I've never climbed Mor Bheinn, e...

Re: Two of Perthshire's finest

This is a good route - thanks, and after checking out your walk report I decided on this today in the thick snow and bright sun. Missed out Beinn Dearg as didn't have time (and I was knackered from thick snow trudge). I'll post a report; good back up option for today as didn't fancy driving in the s...

Re: On the way back home... a'Bheithir in the cap

These are great photos, thanks for uploading! Certainly a lot better than my bad phone pictures! These are two great mountains, looks like a nice route- I came up from Ballachulish village when I did them and it was a long heathery haul on to the ridge.

Some great atmospheric snow photo's there! A walk isn't as fun without sinking in the snow or bog either!

Re: Fraochaidh from Duror by the treacle ridge

I was up on the Ballachulish Munro's last week and was surprised how far down from Ballachulish Fraochaidh seemed, great views of the area though!

Re: Bidean nam Bian from Glencoe Hostel

There is a lot of options on Bidean nam Bian but that looks like a great route with no need for the car. I think I will have a go at your route myself. Cheers :D PS the sideways pictures make Glencoe look even steeper than it is. :D Thanks Sunset tripper! This was a great round route with a well ma...

Bidean nam Bian from Glencoe Hostel

Track_BIDEAN NAM BIAN 01.gpx I started this ascent of Bidean nam Bian from the hostel in Glencoe, and as I didn't have a car decided to go straight up Coire nam Beitheath from the Clachaig Inn woodland walks and bridge. The weather was pretty good and only a bit of cloud on the crags above. After c...
