@al78 "Are you prepared to pay a significant sum of money for the forgiveness?"

Re: New covid restrictions

@Moriarty:

as I was taught many moons ago It is easier to get forgiveness afterwards than to get permission beforehand..............

Re: Beinn a' Chuallaich B847 – No Parking

Hmmm, not holding my breath for sign removal when extraction is over. IMO signs should then be removed; extraction happens once every 30 - 50 years and then we wait while new trees grow to maturity - they don't need the signs during the growing years....... And the prohibion of parking along the Tri...

Re: Beinn a' Chuallaich B847 – No Parking

Perhaps the no parking signs are a relic from all the heavy traffic when work was done on the super pylon project?

Re: Walking boots for wide-ish feet.

Another vote for Altberg for the variety of widths, plus half-sizes and 5 widths. Also vote for Whalley Warm and Dry, excellent fitters and good choice of widths etc in stock. Any of the Premier Retailers will be Altberg-trained in fitting their boots - other stockists maybe not. You can buy from fa...

Re: National Park and Forestry car parks fiasco.

From what I saw on a webpage a few days ago and I can't remember if it was Forestry or John Muir Trust etc: the issue is that with all the staff off and locked down for three months, the routine safety checks on trees, gates, stiles etc round car parks have not been done. Now the staff are back ever...

Disaster struck: my boot split along the bottom edge of the ankle cuff................... no local possibiity of repair, but Altberg suggested LSR. As I've only the one pair that might be solution. Phoned them, e-mailed photo of boot. By return they call to discuss - yes we can fix that. I've only o...

Re: New Coronavirus Law

Charles T writes: "Never mind the hills, with all the newbie cyclists huffing, puffing and wheezing their way up the hill outside my house I'm going to have to disinfect the road before long." On the roads? you are in great luck - here they are on the pavements - narrow - and passing unann...
