Following in Malky's footsteps

Having had an unsuccessful attempt earlier in the year, this time we decided to follow Malky's route. We had our bikes in the back of my car so we cycled from the car park. 35 steady minutes to the end of the track 13 exhilarating minutes back to the car park, hard on the brakes for the last minute ...

Beinn Leamhain

A low cloud day means a low hill so this appeared to be an appropriate hill to tackle. On the face of it this hill lacked a bit of appeal, pathless, steep and around 500 metres of ascent much of it looking at the OS map appeared to be very steep. Throw in a bit of clag, some heavy rain showers and a...

A Bheinn Bhan

]Parked at Inverscaddle Bay and set off by bike on the south side of the River Scaddle heading up Glen Scaddle. Easy cycle initially but it got tougher when we entered the forest. We managed to cycle for 6km before deciding it was too rough and too tough! We walked on for about another kilometre to ...

Beinn an Eoin

This is an update to the route previously used by chazzyboy19. As is so often the case with Sub 2000s the start point can be awkward to find. If you stay on the track used in his report, cross the bridge over the Allt Rugaidh Bheag at reference 34129 05246, take the track to the right for 20 metres ...

Re: Beinn Tharsuinn from Diebidale

Hi, a couple of things, firstly well done for a short, accurate report on simply one walk on one day rather than doing a walk report that includes several days under one heading and for keeping the report on track without the need to say what you had for breakfast and what the weather was like at ho...

Re: Golden Eagle near Perth?

Not sure if it helps or confuses, I have managed a bit of zooming. I just regret not having my proper camera with me!

Golden Eagle near Perth?

2022 saw 2 trips to Rum and trips of 10 days Islay and Jura, 4 days Knoydart, 2 weeks around Glen Affric and another 2 around the Fannichs with a real lack of wildlife apart from red deer. 2nd January 2023 and a snowy walk at Little Glenshee and we had a commotion overhead involving a red kite, a he...

Re: Adder on Jura

Yeah I thought from photos that I’ve seen that it was a female. Needless to say I didn’t pick it up to try and check!!!!

Adder on Jura

P105 Zoomed.JPG
Walking from Cruach na Seilcheig to Ben Garrisdale 15th June 2022 we came across this adder who despite my wife letting out a scream when she nearly stood on it still stayed still to allow me to come back for a photo. Very considerate of it!

Re: Finding quiet in Argyll

Hi Al,
I know it's been a couple of years since you did Stob Odhair but you don't mention a difficult deer fence. Can you remember if there was one as I would have my border collie Lexi with me.
Cheers Donald

Re: Rum Cuillin with a difference

Thanks for your reply, other walkers had been out to the Bothy and said that the path was really boggy and unpleasant so I was glad that we returned the way that we did.

Rum Cuillin with a difference

Despite having climbed over 1450 hills from lowly Castle Crag in the Lake District to being 47 away from completing my second round of Munros, this is my first walk report on WH, despite the fact that I'm an avid user for routes and advice! IMG_7212.JPG Most reports especially of spectacular walks i...
