Re: Gulvain Bike - Hike

Lovely pics clem. Did it the other day with bikes and that's definitely the way to do it  but I agree with you about the last bit of the track - even in bone dry conditions!

Re: The Witches T*t and the Boar of Lochaber (Grey Corries)

Hi John, I was one of the group of four who stalked you for most of the day. Well done to Sue for carrying on a lot further than she first intended. Cracking report, well done ! PS Jonny616 has put up a report on our walk, I'm sure you are in some of the photos. Hi pollyh33 - yep just read the repo...

Re: A Tale of Two Halves

Cracking report jonny616 - Sue and I were the other couple you started out with and saw frequently that day. Good to meet you all! :D and yes, that ridge back down was a b*ll breaker!

I posted my report today. Did you know about the boar in the forest???

Re: Mullardoch circuit - snow, sun and inversions

Brill RH and you picked the right weekend for it. This is definitely going into the favourites folder for when I get round to doing it. Was originally thinking of doing it as 2 dayer but after reading your report I think yours is the best strategy. Loved the piccies in general but especially ...

Re: Gairich by Kayak and Corbett with views to Cuillin/Knoyd

Stunning pics and a real adventure! Have often thought about getting a kayak for such things but I fear that my better half would not be too chuffed if I took up yet another expensive hobby!

Re: Sgurr Alasdair & Sgurr Mhic Chonnich

Stunning pics, you were so lucky with the weather! My only trip to the Cuillin saw me blown off in gale force winds and I've yet to return. This post has resurrected my interest again! :D

The Witches T*t and the Boar of Lochaber (Grey Corries)

My previous attempt at the Grey Corries finished before it had even began with a night of 'stomach issues' in the Bunroy campsite prior to the planned date so I was itching to get back up north after the Ben Alder 6 to crack them (and also to try out my new camera!). Fortunately the weather decided ...

Re: Carn Dearg - a Culra quickie

Setting off at 4:20pm, we headed straight up the heathery SE slopes of Carn Dearg (passing, I think, John928 on his way down after doing all 6! http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=32132 ) Yep I remember you guys - it was a cracking weekend and you certainly had a busy one! ...

Wild boar in Lochaber

In the Leanachan Forest on our way back from the Grey Corries on Sat 8th June 2013 at about 7:30pm, we came across a sow and 2 piglets just at the side of the road. Location was roughly NN239779. We watched them from about 100m away for about 5 mins and got a few minutes of video footage. I managed ...

Re: Half dozen round of Ben Alder for first post

Nice report 'john928', I walked this route in the opposite direction on the same day and may have passed you. That cornice on Geal Charn was a bit dodgy though! I would guess it must have been somewhere near Beinn Eibhinn. I was probably head down with my IPod blaring away.... It certainly w...

Re: Gear review: walking trousers

I love my Montane Terra Pants. Fit is perfect and the side venting zips are great on days when your legs are working hard but it's too cold for shorts. I've got 2 pairs, my black pair are suitable for golf too. If anyone from Montane happens to come across this post though, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can ...

Half dozen round of Ben Alder for first post

I've toyed with the idea of putting a post on here and I was hoping that my first would have been a stupendous snowy day on Chno Dearg earlier in the year but my camera packed in ruining all the photos. After much hunting on the internet I went out and bought a lovely new Panasonic TZ40 and took it ...

Re: Mullardoch in May ?

Might well be interested in this as these are on my hit list. I'm off the last week in May so providing the weather is fair and most of the snow has gone I might be up for it. I was originally planning to do the Alder 6 that week but this is very tempting.
