Re: Dry(ish) Donalds?

A threesome of Erie Hill, Garelet Dod and Cape Law but make life easier for yourself and start from Fruid reservoir not via Talla/Gameshope. Much easier ascent direct to Erie. Then a ridge walk to Garelet Dod then Cape Law. When returning make a circular end by contouring Garelet Dod and descend via...

Re: Beinn an t-Sidhean: tough finding your way at the top

Hi sorry you missed out on the view. We were up just before lockdown on a wild windy day with good snow covering. As I recall we came off the good track and went up the pathless area to the left hand side of the rock formation. Deep snow but once we got to the top picked up a path again to the viewp...

Re: How to Do the Marilyns

We were in Fife the weekend before lockdown when I completed my last 3 sub2k Fifers. A very strange time since then. Re fitness it will come back with regular walking or however we get up these a hills, roll on.

Re: How to Do the Marilyns

Brilliant. Made me smile on this dreich day as I map out a few more southern Marylins to do soon. Many reminders of the Sub 2k's unforgettable terrain.

Re: Delighted to get a Perthshire hill in this horrible week

Did this a couple of weeks ago but turned off the path beside the trees where you continued on for a bit. My map showed that track veering away so thought I had to go cross country at some point. Of course found the path on descent but a short bit of rough ground crossing improved the short walk. Cr...

Lost Tom Tom GPS watch Pykestone Hill

Out today on Pykestone Hill where watch was lost. I know I last looked at it on the final approach to Pykestone Hill around the point where a track goes right off the main track. We stayed on the main track. I realised I had lost it at the boggy hags just before the fence junction at Long Grain Know...

Re: Colt Hill utilising 2 wheels

Good report I have this on my winter list. It was on last years but the weather dictated otherwise. Black ice that morning two cars off the road on way to Moniaive. Headed along the track to the start, how I never slid off I don't know and some steep drops for a car to roll down, praying not to meet...

Re: Mount Keen from Ballater, Glen Muick

Hi great report. I was wanting to do it from this side but taking the MTB as far as I could. From your report that should be straightforward. Up next week so if the good lady allows it is on.

More a road walk than a Coastal way

A beautiful crisp blue skied winters day was the forecast to continue my ramble around Arran. This short walk even allowed me the luxury of the later ferry and of course a black pudding & fried egg Calmac special for nutrition. Don’t worry healthy fruit for the rest of the trip. However as the f...
