Re: Walks for bad knees

I'm in recovery from a broken tibia plateau and was told by my Physio to avoid any impact on my knees. When I asked her about hillwalking and descending slopes in particular she advised me to switch back going down hill and use walking poles for support. I posted yesterday looking for advice on pole...

I am back waking again but have been advised by my Physio that if I am to get hillwalking again I need to use poles. I am currently looking at poles online. Does anyone have any ideas of good poles which will ...

Re: Driesh from Glen Prosen

This is my preferred route up Driesh. I prefer this route due to path being in decent condition rather than the Kilbo from Glen Doll which must be the worst path known to man. As mentioned there is parking available just past Prosen Lodge. I've done this route 5 times. Easy walk in. I've walked up t...

Dog Jackets.

As the winter is now upon us, I am looking for a good water proof, wind proof coat for my young choco lab. Nothing to break the bank either. We're usually in the Sidlaws or foot hills of Angus so nothing extreme. Any suggestions? Ta.

Re: Marine's body found up Clova.

Very good point electricfly. Massive respect to all MRT and civilians involved. Vital service to everyone who loves the hills. Horrible day for all involved. :(

Re: Cycling the Cuillin ridge!!

Agree with the general concensus on this video. The guy is obviously a very talented guy with no self doubt. I found scrambing up Curved Ridge extremley taxing but this footage is truley amazing, jaw droppingly amazing. Take a bow Mr MacAskill.

Re: meall corranaich

Thanks for the replies. The plan is to do Ghlas first then Lawers and finish off with Corranaich. I knew there was a path around the back off Ghlas but wasn't too sure about the climb up Corranaich. Last time I done it I done it from the Choire Leith side. Sound straightforward tho and the forecast ...

meall corranaich

Just looking for a bit of info here. Planning to do Meall Corranaich on Thursday. The plan is to do it on the way back from Lawers using the path around the back of Beinn Ghlas. Just wondering if the route is straight forward as I will have my kids with me and don't fancy any navigation problems.

Re: Central Gully--Creag an Dubh Loch

Thanx for the info guys. With all the negative reports of rock falls on this route I think it sensible to leave it for a season or two until the loose debris settles. Also as mentioned there could be pockets of unstable snow in there too. So big body swerve...........

Looking for advice here. Im planning a camping trip with my 14 yr old daughter to Loch Muick in May taking in a few munros. I have done all munros in this area but have never been down to Dubh Loch itself. The plan was to do Cairn Bannoch and Broad cairn then camp over night at Loch Muick but I was ...
