Re: landslip GR NN 85050 91330 (The red house to Glen Feshie

Hello Mr. Wallace....you invited me to peep into your fine journey as is shown on your Video. :) The rickety wee hut just after the bridge crossing had a bit more wood attached to it when I first passed bye in 1974 ...as I recall I think that it was just the door that was missing then. As for the th...

Re: landslip GR NN 85050 91330 (The red house to Glen Feshie

As I said on here several years ago that the money spent on making the new path to the now washed out crossing ....upgrading of the original path would have been a more useful way of spending the money.

Re: landslip GR NN 85050 91330 (The red house to Glen Feshie

Seems to have drifted onto a different area of the path from the one that the original post was about. :) The image with the rudimentary sign asking folks to use the, what appears to be a hastily made bypass, is directing folks to the original path that I have always used since first walking here in...

Re: Feedback and advice on my route planning.

Another useful shelter on your route could be close to the Geldie Burn crossing ....the gateway into connecting with Glen Tilt at the Ford. I had to look for this one in amongst my images. When I took the image many years back it was not in a good condition. It has now been ungraded and offers good ...

Re: Livestock Loch Quioch

We had an overnight above the Loch many years ago to enable us to reach the hills above.
It was July and there were a few cattle freely wandering around. No problem to us with a wee collie dog.

Re: landslip GR NN 85050 91330 (The red house to Glen Feshie

Sounds like a map reference to the area South of Ruigh Aiteachain Bothy. An area that has had landslips since at least the 1970's. Usually it is possible to get past it without too much difficulty to continue further up the Glen unless of course more dramatic has taken place in the area. MWIS will g...

Re: Feedback and advice on my route planning.

Hello....I wasn't aware of there being a train station at Tomatin?
Anyway you asked about the possibility of refuges en-route and a couple of features.
see a few images of some of what is available.

Re: Feedback and advice on my route planning.

If I were you and has been suggested by others I would get off the train at Carrbridge and then hitch a lift, if possible, up the minor road to then cross the bridge leading to the sheep farm at Inverlaidnan. link from there to the fine trail through to the bridge crossing over the Dulnain river and...

Re: Carnedau horseshoe from Ogwen valley

Although living in Scotland for most of my days I did have some very enjoyable visits to the big Welsh hills in the sixties and seventies.. For these hills I took the opposite way from yours to approach them. I was interested in the classic climb in Craig yr Ysfa corrie that at that time had a Diff....

Re: The North Face

I looked into the tick box questionnaire and it kind of gave up after a couple of stages so didn't find out to where it was going. Wasn't it that the man who founded the North Face company, who several decades ago, sold up and then purchased a huge chunk of Chile and some of Argentina and created a ...

Re: The Great Stone Chute to Sgúrr Alasdair (in sandals)

Surly a pair of damp boots would have saved the folks in your chosen restaurant the exposure of your bloody toes.

Re: Via ferrata: my journey to the dark side!

Have been just once onto a Via Ferrata in Spain. Felt a bit uneasy about the route since it did look as if without the Ferrata stuff it would probably make a good day out for folks climbing at the more advanced grades. :) Two long abseils were needed to get quickly to the base of the Buttress. 666 s...

Re: Creag Meagaidh

If you mean by 'the circuit' i.e. taking in the other Munros as well as the main summit there would be no need to be in the big coire so no need to be either up or down the area of the 'window'.
