Day 1: Corrour station to Mullach Corrie nan Nead We arrived at Corrour station just after twenty past eleven. There was heavy downpour, and just from walking to the station cafe (<50m away..) my head was soaked wet. In the cafe we had a quick coffee and a scone, then set off down the track toward ...

Ten Fannichs traverse - with some snow and a wild camp

I'd decided I wanted to get in a round of the Fannich Munros - including Fionn Bheinn - so set off for a fun weekend traversing the range. Wild camp traverse end to end, using the Kyle railway line for access. Fannich10.gpx Friday : Fionn Bheinn and A'Chailleach Distance: 20.9 km Ascent: 1741m Time...

Beinn Dearg (Blair Atholl) in January

I set off from Blair Atholl station after travelling up from Edinburgh. On arriving at Blair at half three there was still about half an hour before sunset. I set off towards the car park at Old Blair, the usual starting point for the walk. This is well signposted. The walk proper starts in my mind ...
