Re: Glenfinnan Snow?

Walked the route as detailed on walk report on Saturday and never stepped on a bit of snow, great day, never had a jacket on the entire day, actually got a bit of sunburn.

Re: Glenfinnan Snow?

Thanks both, yeah I kind of guessed the conditions would be 1/2 decent but just wanted to check in case anyone had recent personal experience.

Cheers

Re: Mulladoch Ferry

I used him a couple of years ago and its a fantastic service, he books you in for a timeslot and you pay him at the boat. Well worth the money.

Re: Wrong Mountain

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-62673306.amp I question how that is even possible. The first time I went to Ben Lawers, I was with a guy who professed to be very experienced and would "get me to the top", I returned home to tick off the munro on a char...

Re: Pack raft

Thanks both, will have a look at forum and decathlon. Yeah just to cross a loch for me, no carrying it about the hills. Probably use it 3 or 4 times and then it will be relegated to the garage. Might even look out for a 2nd hand one and hope it floats. :? If that's all you want, get a wee inf...

Re: Sugar Bowl Carpark

Re: Garmin etrex 32x

Did your Garmin come with mapping?

If not you need to buy mapping

The individual walk reports on this site have GPX routes you can download and then store on your device.

Re: Sunrise Hikes

Got to the top of Ben Lomond 30mins before the actual sunrise and was freezing even with additional layers on. Enjoyed the walk up in the dark but I think that was because it was a clear path all the way to the top. Got some great pictures.

Re: Fun threesome on the way to WH Kintail Meet

Re: Leaving gear behind while summiting

Left my backpack at a bealach many times and to be fair always in the open and obvious hoping that anyone who sees it could not mistake for suspicious! Only time I've ever had problem was on way back down a lady asked if it was my bag, I said yes and she went onto describe things in my bag. Felt a b...
