Beinn Tharsuinn from Strathrory
Grahams: Beinn Tharsuinn. Date: 28/03/2021. Distance: 7.5 km (cycling), 5.5km (walking). Ascent: 175m (cyling), 430m (walking). Time: 4 hours. Weather: Overcast and windy, but dry. I'd identified this as a possible lockdown route at the start of the year, but to make it manageable, we just needed to...

Re: Affric-an holidays: Carn nam Bad
Good to see that most of that route is still walkable :D . I thought that the powerline works might have taken some sections of it out. Annoyingly the original Beauly-Denny line went along the bottom of Strathglass, but it got moved up onto the moorland with the upgrade to make it less visible. I su...

Re: Farr and away the most windfarmy route to Carn na h-Easg
Nice (sort of!) - I've long intended to do a big horseshoe using your route and a return over Beinn na Cailleach and Beinn Dubh...but somehow I have never managed to work up the enthusiasm! Sometime in the last 3 months would have been ideal but I don't think Jackie could currently handle the distan...

A Strathconon saunter up Meall na Faochaig
Grahams: Meall na Faochaig. Date: 21/03/2021. Distance: 7 km. Ascent: 550m. Time: 3 hours, 15 minutes. Weather: Overcast and blustery, but dry. After yesterday's walk up Meall an Tarsaid had taken far more effort than it should have done, I didn't have particularly high hopes for getting up any bigg...

Re: Stac na Cathaig between the showers
Looks a bonny interlude between the showers. Was the gate you came to open? We've twice been up to find gate locked and had we climbed adjacent fence no way of getting dog through. :? Worth looking closer at it. It was open but the chain and padlock had been placed to make it look locked. I was all...

Re: When can we visit Scotland again?
I think probably the same date (26th April) as we are allowed to travel freely within Scotland. However the Scottish Government have only really announced headline dates, and they haven't filled us in on the detail yet - I assume because if they need to backtrack due to changes in circumstances, it ...

Re: Autumn Days and Ice Cream on Colonsay and Oronsay
What a great few days
. I have been to Colonsay once, for a few hours, but this report has sent it to the top of the destination list for this year....hopefully with a wander over to Oronsay too. Really enjoyed your photos from the ferry on the way out (not to mention the ones on the island itself!)
