Great view east

Did this today except our decent was to Butterbridge.

What a great route away from the mobs piling up from Arrochar. Great views of lochs Lomond , Arklet and Katrine at the top.

Re: The roof of Skye - Alasdair, Dubh Mor and Eag

Just back from doing Dubh Mor and Eag with a guide in thick cloud, windy, showery conditions 18/7/20.

I tip my hat to anyone managing this on their own no matter the conditions.

Well done and great report!

Beinn Trilleachan: circular route

Before going I'd asked about a circular route in the forum and got some advice that this was possible though the recommended route is usually up and back the same way. So we walked along the loch through about 3 areas of forest until well past the slab and when the path decended steeply we headed st...

Re: Beinn Trilleachan- why always decending by the same rout

Thanks for the replies

Reckon I'll walk towards Barrs and head up and west where the path splits. The NNW to the summit once on the ridge.

Beinn Trilleachan- why always decending by the same route??

Heading there on Sunday and wanting to know if I can decend east or south east off the summit and head through a gap in the forest back to the path along Loch Etive. Surely better than returning by the accent route??

Re: Creag Mhor Glen Lochay

I attempted the 2 Glen Lochy Munros today but we started ascending too quickly and ended up east of the bealach between the 2. Didn't fancy going up and down to the bealach twice so headed to Heasgarnich only. Wondered about cycling next time to Creag Mhor but couldn't remember if the gates were pas...

Hillwalking clubs

Reluctant as I am to have anyone else set my schedule let me just put this out there: Most of the friends I used to walk with are- 1. Rarely available 2. Lost fitness levels 3. Lost enthusiasm Am considering joining a club but no nothing about any: except that someone at work goes with a police grou...

Re: Loch an Daimh

I also took the Cameron McNeish challenge today and did the full circuit. Wouldn't fancy that northern section up to Meall Buidhe in low cloud being a vast featureless moor / bog though there are some cairns to follow. Today however was bright and sunny Meall Buidhe from the car park looks a singula...

Schiehallion path

Never been up and have always been put off by: 1. Going up and down the same way 2. Eroded paths (as reported in my old editions of Munro books) Looking at some reports I began to wonder if the paths had been subject to repair ? Also can anyone recommend a fairly simple alternative decent? (I'm goin...

Re: Tulloch Station to Larig Leacach bothy

If you have a motor going in from Spean Bridge up to the farm is the easiest...a way that I had used many years ago but going back for the Corbetts some time later we Obviously went too far along the track and found that the railway bridge. to reach the track into the bothy, was in a very rickety s...
