I did a DofE Gold trip through here over the summer - we camped just east of the Bealach Dubh, at Corrour Old Lodge (NN374644) and at by the river just up from Loch Trieg at NN288680. They were all fantastic spots, with the one at Corrour being on what felt like an old lawn - short, flat grass. Room...

I've been in a similar situation before and I don't like it - seeing someone injured and knowing that any help you could give has been given. It seems callous just to walk on by, but what realistically can you do?

Useful trick if your bike has quick-release wheels is to take the skewer - sod all weight to carry but makes the bike a lot harder to nick even if they can cut the lock

Just remember that Scottish weather could do literally anything, and really does change astonishingly quickly. Always worth bearing in mind when you're planning multiday backpacks...
