My bro is looking to get his first pair of boots. He has very wide very flat feet. Any suggestions where he could start when trying on boots?

Re: White Mounth in the wee small hours

Backpacker and I did this route at night this year for the summer solstice and it was heaving!! Not seen such a busy hill since I was up Big Ben. Unfortunately claggy and tiresome when there's not too much to see :( I was a bit like Munro the dog and passed out in the car for 2 hours without even ma...

Re: Holiday suggestions?

High mountains can sometimes be a bit iffy in the autumn, you may have a great time or be foiled by snow. We went to the Polish Tatras at that time of year, there are paths (some a bit scrambly) and great walking. An alternative would be Majorca ....don't write it off as sea and sand. Some great mo...

Holiday suggestions?

Backpacker and I are looking for holiday in Europe late Sept early October that will allow us to get out walking and exploring everyday without being too strenuous. Can anybody make any recommendations? Would love to hear your thoughts!!

Watch found on Sgurr nan Conbhairean

Gents watch found in good working order up here on Saturday. Looks like it had just freshly hit the deck so doubt it had been there long. If you'd like it back give me a shout and I'll post it to you or keep it until a meet!

Re: Safe munros for dogs

I did Ben Lomond with my dog today. It was uncomfortably hot for her and very exposed on the hillside. Although she plodded on as I hauled all the extra water for us both in the heat, I'm not sure either of us enjoyed it as we should have. There was absolutely no drinking water on the ascent for the...
