Re: Prince - a Collie amongst the Munros

That was such a pleasure to read, and what a beautiful boy he was. The hills are such a great place for humans, but made even better with the company of a loyal, faithful dog.
Thank you for posting, It makes me yearn to be out again.

Re: Liathach by the back door

I reckon that's the way I'll go up, there's no way I'm going over the Pinnacles nor doing the bypass, as I get a bit jumpy under stress, and that's no place to be jumping up on people and sending them flying. Your route looks fantastic. A great report too.

Re: Mutts on Munros

Only my second Munro this year, what with mum being through the mill health wise, but what's the rush? The mountains aren't going anywhere and at least we're back out there getting our mountain fix again, albeit it very slowly.

Re: SPRING WH GAIRLOCH SANDS HOSTEL MEET 8/9TH APRIL 2016

Hey folks Me and my mum and my human sister will be camping at the Sands Campsite, and will drop by in the evening to say hello. It will be too early post operation for mum to be climbing any hills, but the north face of carrot cake and cappoccino is most definitely on the cards!!! We'll do some low...

Re: Back on the Munro Trail - Destination Achnashellach!!

What tent do you use? Mum's just bought a Zephyros 1, and first pitching the flysheet seemed awfully loose. Pitched again today and seemed a lot tighter, but the thought of a flapping flysheet and no sleep is a concern, especially on her SML training next week...she just thought yours looked similar...

Re: Navigating the White Mounth Munros circuit

We did it as an overnight navigation exercise in April. Head torches, maps, compasses and backed up with gas just in case...was straight forward to be honest. It also made us aware of the wonderfully motivating effect of the sunrise...boosted our flagging morale no end I can tell you!!!

Re: Evil wind does NOT stop play on Braeriach

I loved your report!!! I reckon Nudge and me would have a real good time searching for girl dogs!!! This is the only hill I was tired on, after going to Corrour from the Sugarbowl. And up Devil's Point etc to do the full traverse, in s***e weather, was blooming knackered by the end. My paws must be ...

CMD Arete for dogs?

Given that there have been fatalities on the CMD arete recently, I'm a wee bit concerned about accompanying my mum on this route. Took a tumble on the Horns of Alligin a month ago which knocked my confidence a bit, although I managed An Teallach the following day which was absolutely amazing. Even i...

Re: The one where we had a row on Beinn lutharn Mhor

Hahaha...just love the 'row' bit...when we did these without bikes, the teenager lost the will going across the peat hags. Solution? Give him my mum's walking pole and suggest that its a weapon of mass destruction. .. He had a gas saving the two wifies and two dogs from the Russians, the Taliban, th...

Re: Saving a hill to be the last...

Given that I'm a dog, I'll never compleat but my mum remains hopeful that she might just manage it one day. She hopes it will be on her remaining summit on An Teallach, she left one specially for the event...it's such a special place she wants to share it with special people. One day, maybe. Well, ...
