Re: Sgurr na Banachdich - first time on the Cuillin Ridge

Planning a jaunt up Sgurr na Banachdich next week and have been considering the descent via Sgurr nan Gobhar to add in some fun. Your report definitely helped to confirm that this looks quite achievable. (and probably wouldn't be too much more time consuming?). Cheers

Re: Beinn Dearg via bike

Following reading this thread.......I tackled Beinn Dearg yesterday and decided on the Calvine to Bruar Lodge route as it sounded a better track surface for the bike approach. Unfortunately however the track won the battle with my hybrid although at least my puncture was on the way out and only 3km ...

Wild camp locations on Knoydart? (Ladhar Bheinn)

Looking for suggestions for wild camp locations on Ladhar Bheinn, Knoydart? Planning doing Ladhar Bheinn from Inverie (using the Walkhighlands route) and looking to see if anyone has been successful finding a nice wild camp spot with great views to watch the sun go down (optimistic I know  ) ...

Re: Mondaliath 3 - 18th May

Yeah, the weather is looking a bit mixed. I'll give your walk a miss tomorrow and go for a corbett rather than a munro or two .... haven't done Beinn Bha'ach Ard yet, so that horseshoe should still give me a decent walk. Thanks :D Yeah the weather is not looking great anywhere. I've made the hard d...

Re: Mondaliath 3 - 18th May

I might be interested? - I'm pretty new in the area, too busy moving here (Inverness) to get much walking done initially, but got back into it with Ben Hee, Ben Stack, Quinag and Arkle in the last month; could do with stretching my legs a bit more now :D . Shift worker, so not tied to weekend walki...

Mondaliath 3 - 18th May

Weather not looking great this week but Wednesday seems reasonable enough on the Mondaliath hills.
Planning a stomp round starting at approximately 8am from the Shephards Bridge.
If anyone fancies tagging along let me know.

Re: Sgurr na Stri.....from the South??

If you dont want to do the Bad Step, you can go up the eastern side of Sgurr Na Stri. Head to the old Camasunary bothy, then head about a km north, cross the river and follow the burn up (marked on the map) between Sgurr Hain and SNS. You will pick up a faint path about halfway up. Once you get up ...

Sgurr na Stri.....from the South??

I am planning an overnight walk doing Bla Beinn in a couple of weeks and part of the walk approaches Sgurr na Stri from the South. Wondering how difficult the approach from the South side is? The route I'm looking starts at Loch Slapin, up Bla Beinn, passing Camnasunary Bay and then finishes at the ...

Re: The Mamores, Clockwise

Hi MBaillie, I did the same route a couple of months back. If you type into the search bar my Mamores thread should come up as I asked the same sort of question. Seemed like a few things could influence going either clockwise or anti-clockwise. Anti clockwise you will be getting hopefully the best v...

Re: The 10 Mamores

Just a quick thank you to all you guys that replied to this post a couple of months back. Completed the 10 Mamores over two days early last week and was all in all a successful trip. Decided East to West anti-clockwise route starting from Glen Nevis. About 18 hours of walking with an overnight camp ...

Re: The 10 Mamores

Thanks for the reply Kevin - Lochan Coire nam Miseach does look a good option. I guess it will come down to the weather and which way we decide to walk and then of course how far we get on day one!! Better having one or two options up my sleeve I guess. I did actually already come across your blog t...
