Planning a jaunt up Sgurr na Banachdich next week and have been considering the descent via Sgurr nan Gobhar to add in some fun. Your report definitely helped to confirm that this looks quite achievable. (and probably wouldn't be too much more time consuming?). Cheers

Following reading this thread.......I tackled Beinn Dearg yesterday and decided on the Calvine to Bruar Lodge route as it sounded a better track surface for the bike approach. Unfortunately however the track won the battle with my hybrid although at least my puncture was on the way out and only 3km ...
