Habitual visitors to Lochivraon Bothy since 1989 will know in May there is a sizeable school Outdoor Education project which Inverbroom Estate have allowed to make use of the bothy. Now that the bothy...

Lochivraon Bothy Unavailable 18-27 May

Many regular readers will recall seeing my annual posts about the bothy at Lochivraon. This is handily placed for the Western Fannichs and also for the Munros of Fisherfield, as it is situated at the foot of Craig Reainich, at the west end of Loch a' Bhraoin. For the last 26 years in May, Inverbroom...

Found - Woolly Hat, Beinn Dubhcraig

Nice woolly hat by the path through the trees, about an hour up the hill. Good nick, so probably lost that very day (Friday 12 April). Saw it about 12.30 (lateish start) and picked it up on way back.

Now washed and awaiting a description. Hope you read this!

Lost in Glen Feshie and Found on Sgurr Gaorsaic!

I lost a camera case near the waterfall and gorge in upper Feshie where the path crosses the stream at Ruighe nan Leum. (at the end of June) Good news for somebody perhaps, I was on the summit of Sgurr Gaorsaic (Kintail / Affric) yesterday (Friday 13 July) at 2,30 and found a bit of equipment at the...

Re: Lochivraon Bothy UNAVAILABLE 14-22 MAY

Hi, there. I posted the message about the unavailability of the wee bothy up to May 22nd. I visited it twice in that time. Happy to say it has been left in very good nick by the school parties using it. They carried in extra fuel, so the place is currently well supplied. Word of caution about the ne...

Re: Water Filters - which one?

Interesting discussion.
It's all about perceived risk and choice, I suppose.

For filtration I tend to use a moustache and whisky for sterilisation. (I cycle without wearing a hard hat as well.) I expect to be first agin the wa' when the revolution comes (without bullet proof vest).

Re: Lochivraon Bothy Unavailable 18-25 May

The Lochivraon situation changed a few years ago when Inverbroom estate changed ownership. The new owners increased the number of full time workers on the estate and it became clear that the old cottage (the former bothy) was due for a complete makeover. A broader access track was made along the nor...
