West Island Way

Thought you might like to know that the last (boring) section of the West Island Way on Bute is shortly to be re-routed so it avoids the tarmac road from Rhubodach to Port Bannatyne. It will, instead, follow a contour across the hillside. I've tried part of it and It's much more user-friendly. Edito...

As you'll see, I've posted much the same request again. Hadn't read your reply to my earlier post. Still think it's weird that eg Galloway is a higher priority than Arran. Ho hum.

I know it's cheating to reply to yourself. But I've just come down from Beinn Mhor again and it was different as chalk and cheese. Deep soft snow all the way up through the forest was a complete pain. Only a couple of people had been up, so no choice but to use their footsteps, which is hard going. ...

First-time user of the site. Don't know where it's been all my life! Excellent route directions for the Beinn Mhor (Cowal) walk. The mountain itself is fine but it's the views all around that make it well worthwhile. Perishing cold on the summit, though, with snow flurries and a razor-sharp northerl...
