Re: HELP: Can you help support 200 mile hike across Scotland

Hello all!

Below is the finalised route and we still have the odd gap in our volunteer roster so please do get in touch if you think you could help out for a day or two.

We leave Iona on 6 May and plan to finish in St Andrews on 21 May.

Well here we go - it's all finalised now. On 6 May we set off with Michael who is 75 and has dual sensory impairment, on a 210 mile self supported hike across Scotland from Martyrs Bay on Iona to the Martyr's Monument in St Andrews. See what we did there!  Michael can hear with the help...

Re: HELP: Can you help support 200 mile hike across Scotland

There is now a schedule available as well if you would like to join us on the hike. We do not expect anyone to do any fundraising but rather are simply looking for like minded walkers to help me guide Dad across Scotland. If interested, please give me a shout. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-OQr...

Re: HELP: Can you help support 200 mile hike across Scotland

I've experienced exclusion from exercise and the outdoors. Admittedly self imposed because I saw myself as too fat and it would be embarrassing to be seen

Everyone should be able to share our fantastic outdoors so enabling Michael is just an extension of enabling myself. :D

HELP: Can you help support 200 mile hike across Scotland?

It's taken a while but at long last I've finalised the route. Michaels Way Hike is going to take us 200 miles from Iona to St Andrews, mainly wild camping with the occasional 'luxury' pit stop to clean ourselves up a bit! The schedule wil be finalised very soon and the provisional start date i...
