Re: Energy supplements within a platypus

I've always put diluting juice in my camelbak and never had any problems and always cleaned it after use. I also store it in the freezer after use, and let it thaw out before using again

Re: Regatta-Are they really the worst brand?

Why would you buy the more expensive makes only to find "this is not for me". I started of with the "cheap" army navy surplus at first then gradually bought branded names

Re: knee replacements and hill walking

I had a left knee replacement 4 year ago ( I was 59) and was back on the hills after 5 month, albeit sub 2,000ft. Eventually I started to go a bit higher, but, then the right knee started to play up this curtailed the hills big style again. I've just had my right knee replaced and hopefully in the n...

Re: Beinn Dearg via bike

Agree with Sunset Tripper, certainly got back down a lot quicker when I did it, but felt like l'd been shaken to bits, also a "white knuckle" ride in some places

Re: Gloves!

Not sure about ME Rondonee gloves, but I do have a pair of ME Assault gloves - similar to Rondonee - and I think I've only wore them once in the winter as I find them too warm, but everybody is different, still prefer the G2 gloves

Re: Vacuum flask

Try the new thermos ultimate flask. 0.9 or 0.5 litre, I've had the smaller one for a couple of month now and well impressed. Even has a protective rubber base and rubber band collar

New aerials on Meall Uaine

A new square frame with 4 round aerials has appeared on Meall Uaine (Ben Vrackie) recently, they're still being installed as a collapsible ladder was left and wires exposed but taped up. Does anybody know why they're there - weather or communication maybe.

Kirk Road, Glen Lyon

Climbed Meall a'Mhuic yesterday, the track of to the left on the Kirk Road (548 - 481) is fenced off. and looks like it has been for some time. So you have to go further up the track and turn left and descend down to pick up that track at the bridge. Alternatively, use the track at the car park (gre...
