When you think of the Munros and the Cairngorms, lose hard fort final few verticle metres of Derry Cairngorm will come flooding back.

The risk of lightning strikes from wintry showers is very small, not really worth worrying about. You can get the very occasional clap of thunder, but almost all the strikes are cloud-to-cloud and not cloud-to-ground. A hasty descent on unseen/unknown ground is probably much the more dangerous optio...
