Re: Beinn Bhrotain & Monadh Mor from the Linn of Dee

Great report, thanks for writing! I'm planning something similar and had a question about the MTB access. You said you parked up your bike at the Allt Larnaidh, was that as far as you could easily get on the MTB or would it be possible to continue further up the path as far as Glen Geusachan for exa...

Re: A'Chioch of Beinn Bhan

Thanks for the photos, would love to hear your thoughts on the difficulty of the scrambling and level of exposure? Other than an eroded squirm at the top, the scrambling is not too tricky. It doesn't feel particularly exposed either. However, it is not a route to be taken lightly. There is much loo...

Re: Sgurr a'Gharaidh - how to find Hinterstoisser traverse ;

Great report! I was drawn in by the Eiger reference in the title I must say. Visiting this area in a month's time to do some walking and this route is close to where we are staying so we may well give it a go! Looks like you had a cracking day for it, I particularly like your photos of the sunlit ri...

Re: Planning and Viewing of Routes on OS Maps / Garmin Etrex

I have subscribed to OS maps this year. Use it for plotting routes, printing maps and mobile. I download the route and upload to movescount so I can upload it to my watch. Have found it very good and will probably subscribe again. Apparently, you can sometimes buy a years subscription with Tesco cl...

Planning and Viewing of Routes on OS Maps / Garmin Etrex

Hello to one and all, I have a Garmin Etrex 10 which I use as an additional navigational aid when walking in the mountains. For a number of years I have used the WH .gpx files as routes but I am now starting to create my own routes in the GPS part of WH website so I can be more creative with my rout...

Re: Mamores on a crisp day - 10 Munros, 23 miles, 11.5 hours

Hey mate, great report and you got some cracking photos! It's these early winter days that I love, just enough crisp snow to make it beautiful and not too much to slow you down! Still, saying that, looks like there was no chance of slowing you down! That's a cracking time for the full round! Did you...

Re: Drumochter Pass

Haha, yes my very thoughts Katy! Sadly although I am keen, I'm pretty sure it'll prove to be too stormy for the outing to happen this weekend. Don't really fancy trying to make it safely around those hills with whiteout conditions and minimum 60mph winds!!

Fingers crossed for next week though! :D

Re: Drumochter Pass

Thank you all for your comments and posts!

It's great to be able to build up a picture of what it's like up there just now...

Although as I hear the wind a howlin' outside my office window just now I suspect a storm might be on it's way...

Fingers crossed :)

Re: The (Very White) White Mounth Munros (minus Lochnagar)

Nice report and photos Tim  This is pretty much the exact route i have planned for repeating these next year Thanks! We did it in just under 8 hours all in but that was using the bikes and we did hang about on the hill tops a bit admiring the views. I dare say if you used bikes and were a fas...
