If the weather plays ball, you should get some of the best views available in the LD... http...

Re: Your walking poems.

I also very much like Driftwood's verse. I've nothing to offer of my own, but for some inexplicable reason, Hardy's "In time of 'The Breaking of Nations'" often comes to mind when I'm alone in the hills - perhaps because the sentiment expressed : that wonderful things were there long befor...

This subject has been addressed a few times before on the "Gear" forum, most recently here (in a slightly different guise)...

Re: Torridon Christmas Cracker: Beinn na h-Eaglaise

Aahhh - Torridon. Just bee-oo-ti-ful. I feel very envious.

Good to see that Jackie is able to manage a hill like this - hope this is part of a steady improvement.

Re: Meall Dubh and the threat of further imprisonment

I do envy you living so close to all that!

Duncan's moved to Dundee, but I can't even visit him in the current lockdown :-(.

All the best for the New Year, and especially hoping that Jackie makes a full recovery.

Re: Your coldest day?

In January 2019 I was up An Caisteal and Beinn a'Chroin on separate days. Both mornings the temperature gauge in the car was showing -7 or -8. It was a bit breezy up top on both hills, nice if you found a sheltered spot but bitterly cold in the exposed places. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50...
