Re: The Island of Fractured Rainbows

I must say Al, a fair few of your recent reports should prove very useful to me once I get back out on the hills.....lots of areas that might not have that much in terms of volume of traffic that are nonetheless on my to-do list.

Re: Who better to meet on the Pass of the Cattle?

I know it's a high starting point, but it really is an enjoyable route up a great hill. I had a howling gale and heavy rain but you were lucky to such excellent weather

Re: Three Corbetts and two high camps in glorious Knoydart

Looks superb....always found it a tough area to walk though. Must get back some time to explore some more. It's a shame that memorial is part of such a great view.......I flatly refuse to photo it due to the person it's erected in memory of.

Re: Garbh Bheinn dash.

This is a cracking hill, so some great views, particularly to the AE ridge I thought. Did it as a "Plan B" one winter a few years back.

Re: New covid restrictions

Update - asked not to travel to or from the central belt from friday for 16 days. It will be interesting to see how that is interpreted. I try not to comment on these things, as political affiliations can easily surface........but I find this sort of pronouncement daft and annoying. Either b...

Re: Maovally - a sub2k from Loch Shin. Good hill for bad wea

I had looked at this route a while ago as an interesting looking alternative, but hadn't made it up that way yet. The local doesn't sound overly pleasant though.....I personally don't like that sort of confrontation, so try to avoid. A nice touch from the neighbour, but sad they feel they have to ap...

Re: Sgor Mor

I remember the electric fence on this route......before I saw a gate 🤣 Got a bit of a shock when I touched it 🤣 Nice hill though I thought and you certainly got some nice views on your trip.

Re: Liathach - The return, seemed much tougher!

Looked good fun Martin. You seem to be cracking through your second round now. I remember a great day on this hill, although the decent off the second Munro wasn't particularly pleasant as I recall.

Re: Excellent walk

One of the finest hills in the area in my view and excellent in winter. Sir Hugh's tape measure wasn't working on this one though, as it was on his original list despite being sufficiently under 3000 feet 🤣

Re: Beneraird and Knockdolian

Two fine little hills these, although I saw sweet fanny adams from Knockdolian on my visit. It was a bit damp

Always like to see a Beneraird report on the site though......

Re: Sunny Carn Chuinneag

Got this on my "to-do" list. Would like to order weather like you had RH.....less any midges of course. Was on Beinn a Chaisteil recently, which gives a great view of this one.

Re: Knoydart 3 , is there an easy way ?

I've done the walk in to Barisdale. Very scenic on the walk in. A bit of a slog on the walk back out though, I found. Has put me off returning, but if you have the time and don't need to rush then it might not be the slog I found it to be. Have done the boat to Inverie and made it a bit more of an a...
